A cable link includes a first link connector 22 in signal communication with at least one sensor 20, 18 in a drill string and coupled to the drill string, a second link connector 14 spaced apart from the first link connector 22 and in signal communication with a telemetry system, the second link connector 14 coupled to the drill string, and a linking cable 44 having signal connectors 42, 40 at each end thereof, the linking cable having at least one of an electrical conductor and an optical fiber therein, the signal connectors each being configured to latch proximate a respective one of the first and second link connector. |
