A refrigerator having standby power option is provided to select the intensity of light radiated to a display panel by a brightness selecting unit in the standby state. A refrigerator having standby power option includes a case, doors for opening or closing inner spaces of the case, a display panel(400) provided to any one of the doors for displaying control screens, and a brightness selecting unit(600) provided to any one of the doors or the case for controlling the brightness of the display panel. The brightness control unit is a toggle switch having a plurality of contact positions for controlling current supply by varying the contact positions thereof.
