Method and apparatus for intermediate frequency selection

A method and apparatus is provided for generating an intermediate frequency signal from a radio frequency signal that provides information in a radio block comprising a plurality of consecutive bursts. Receiver circuitry receives the signal and is coupled to a controller having a radio link comparison module which determines a local oscillator reference signal for injection into the signal to derive an intermediate frequency signal therefrom in response to a radio block boundary of the radio block.
