904,313. Securing railway rails. MOLYNEUX, G. April 12, 1961 [April 29, 1960], No. 15051/60. Class 104 (2). Means for holding a track rail to a support comprises a rigid member adapted to be moved laterally towards and to press against the track rail upon rotation of a cam member about the axis of a bolt passing through the rigid member, and a resilient member projecting laterally from the rigid member and bearing down on the track rail. The rigid member 1 is in the form of an inverted rectangular U and is held on to the support 2 by a bolt 6 on which is threaded a cam 13 disposed in a circular opening in the member 1 so that rotation of the cam by means of a square or polygonal head 15 moves the member 1 laterally, causing one upright 3 to press against the edge of the rail flange 4. A resilient member 7 having a downturned end 9 engaging the inner side of the other upright 10, passes through a slot in the member 1 adjacent the upright 3 and has an arched-over end 11 bearing on the upper surface of the rail flange 4. Similar means are provided on both sides of the rail. |
