<p>A display medium (1) includes a first substrate (11), a second substrate (12), a partition wall member (13) and an electrophoretic medium (31). The first substrate (11) constitutes a display surface, and the second substrate (12) is disposed in opposition to the first substrate (11) for forming a fluid chamber (R) between the first substrate (11) and the second substrate (12). The partition wall member (13) is interposed between the first substrate (11) and the second substrate (12) and dividing the fluid chamber (R) into a plurality of cells (C). The plurality of cells (C) is filled with an electrophoretic medium (31) wherein a charged particle dispersion (33), including an organic solvent with dispersed charged particles (20), is dissolved or dispersed in a dispersion medium (34) for filling the plurality of cells (C). The display medium (1) displays an image on the display surface (10) by moving the charged particles (20) based on the directions of electric fields generated between the first substrate (11) and the second substrate (12). A method of manufacturing the display medium (1) includes a filling step for filling the plurality of cells (C) with the charged particle dispersion (33) before the partition wall member (13) is covered with the first substrate (11) and the second substrate (12), and an injection step for injecting the dispersion medium (34) for dissolving or dispersing the charged particle dispersion (33) into the plurality of cells (C) filled with the charged particle dispersion (33) in the injecting step"</p> |
