A method for preparing polyketone is provided to reduce the melting point of the resultant polyketone, thereby improving the processability, and to realize improved catalytic activity and intrinsic viscosity. A method for preparing polyketone comprises a step of terpolymerizing carbon monoxide, an ethylenically unsaturated compound and propylenically unsaturated compound in the presence of a catalyst in a liquid medium. In the method, the catalyst is an organometal complex containing (a) a group 9, 10 or 11 transition metal compound, (b) a group 15 element-containing ligand, and (c) an anion of an acid having a pKa of 4 or less, wherein (c) component includes a mixture containing two or more acids having a pKa of 4 or less, and the molar ratio of (a):(b):(c) of the catalyst is 1:1.2:7, and benzophenone is added upon the polymerization.
