A method and an apparatus for post-processing an audio signal are provided to adjust an audio signal according to music classification based on a mood. A mode selecting unit(110) selects one of a plurality of processing modes with respect to an audio signal classified based on at least one of a timber of an audio signal, the intensity of a sound and a rhythm. A processing unit(120) changes at least one of the timer of the audio signal, the intensity of the sound, and the rhythm based on the selected processing mode. The processing unit increases or lowers a sampling rate of the audio signal. The processing unit converts the audio signal into a frequency domain, moves the converted audio signal to a frequency band higher than a current position by a certain frequency, and increases the size of energy of the audio signal included in a certain frequency band.
