The method involves supplying a current (Ip) in a primary winding (11p) of a transformer (11), where the current is a frequency modulated signal having sinusoidal pulses with different durations along a leading edge or trailing edge of a digital signal (Vin) to be transferred. The digital signal is transformed into impulses having different durations along the leading edge or trailing edge of the digital signal. An independent claim is also included for a system for transferring digital signal through a transformer.
