An LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) device and a driving method thereof are provided to compensate for the distortion of upper and lower portions of an LCD panel by feeding back the distortion of common voltages to a common voltage supply line of the LCD panel. An LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) device includes an LCD panel(53) and a common voltage compensating unit(56). The LCD panel includes a common electrode for supplying a common voltage through a common voltage supply line, plural data lines for supplying data voltages, and plural gate lines for supplying scan pulses, which oscillates between gate high and low voltages. The common voltage compensating unit detects at least one of the gate high and low voltages from upper and lower portions of the LCD panel, amplifies reversely the detected voltage, and supplies the amplified voltage as the common voltage to the common voltage supply line.
