BACK-LIGHT ASSEMBLY AND LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY DEVICE HAVING THE SAME

A back light assembly and an LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) having the same are provided to offer the optimum numerical value of a plane portion and a slant portion of a light guide panel, thereby preventing the light leakage from generating. A light guide panel(400) is combined with a light emitting surface of a light source(300). A plane portion(410) and a slant portion(420) are formed at a side of the light guide panel and the ratio of the plane portion and the horizontal distance of the slant portion is below 1:5. The light guide panel includes a base. The thickness of the plane portion is thicker than that of the base. The slant portion connects the base with the plane portion. A side of the plane portion is a light receiving surface for receiving the light beam. The light source such as an LED(Light Emitting Device)(310) is separated from the light receiving surface with a predetermined distance and formed at the light receiving surface. The length of the light receiving surface is the same as the height of the light emitting surface of the LED.
