A spam SMS(Short Message Service) message interception system using a callback SMS message and a method thereof are provided to effectively intercept spam SMS messages by transmitting a callback SMS message to the user of a transmitting terminal and recognizing an SMS message transmitted from the user as a normal SMS message. A spam SMS message interception system comprises an SMS processing server(50) and an authentication server(200). The SMS processing server receives an SMS message from the user of a transmitting terminal(10), requests the user to authenticate whether he has transmitted the SMS message, and delivers the SMS message to a receiving terminal(20) if a response is received from the transmitting terminal. The authentication server authenticates whether the user of the receiving terminal is a subscriber affiliated with a spam SMS message interception. A callback determining sever(100) makes out a callback authentication message and then transmits the message to the transmitting terminal.
