A recording method is provided to reproduce a play list or a program starting from a resume point regardless of a reproduction state, and display thumbnails at a high speed in displaying a navigation desired by a user. Management information records a GOP(Group Of Picture) position from which reproduction is resumed from the first and a reproduction initiation frame position of the GOP at the reproduction initiation position as a reproduction initiation point of an image and voice stream, and records a GOP position of a reproduction termination and a reproduction termination frame position of the GOP at the reproduction termination position as reproduction termination points of the image and voice stream. The GOP position of the reproduction termination is a difference value between a GOP of an end of the image and voice stream and a reproduction terminating GOP. The difference value between the GOP position at which the reproduction is initiated from the start and the reproduction terminating GOP from the GOP of the end of the image and voice stream is within a certain value.
