The invention relates to a cosmetic composition containing:
i) at least one triarylmethane dye molecule chosen from homopolymeric triarylmethane dye molecules, copolymeric triarylmethane dye molecules, oligomeric triarylmethane dye molecules, and mixtures thereof,
ii) at least one film forming polymer, and
iii) at least one solvent. The invention also relates to a process for imparting color onto keratinous substrates involving contacting said substrates with such a composition.
