<p>A high-efficiency cutting insert is provided to increase effective cutting width and reduce cutting force by forming a cutting edge including a corner cutting edge, a major cutting edge, a minor cutting edge and a boundary cutting edge. A high-efficiency cutting insert(100) comprises an upper surface(110a), a lower surface and a side surface(114) connecting the upper surface to the lower surface, a corner side surface(116) and a circular opening(112) communicating with the upper surface and the lower surface. A cutting edge(120) is formed as one of the upper and lower surfaces meets the side surface and the corner side surface. The cutting edge includes three corner cutting edges(122), six major cutting edges(124) and three minor cutting edges(126).</p> |
