A function limitation method of a mobile terminal through voice authentication and a system thereof are provided to enable a voice authentication server communicating with an MSC(Mobile Switching Center) to analyze a sender's voice to limit functions of the terminal or call connection, thereby preventing calls by another person or leakage of personal information. A sending mobile terminal(11) is mounted with a locking setup application capable of limiting the entire or some of functions. A mobile communication network(20) relays mobile communication between the sending terminal and a receiving mobile terminal(12), and performs a call processing function. A voice authentication server(30) links with the mobile communication network to decide whether a sender is a legal user by using the sender's voice, and if not, the server transmits authenticated results to the sending terminal.
