摘要 A CMOS(Complementary Metal Oxide Semiconductor) oscillator with a temperature compensation function and a temperature compensating method thereof are provided to decrease a sensitivity of the CMOS oscillator with respect to a temperature variation by embedding a reference current generator and a reference voltage generator in a semiconductor chip. A CMOS oscillator(20) includes a reference voltage generator, an oscillator, and a reference current generator. The reference voltage generator divides a current from the reference voltage generator using resistors and generates a reference voltage. The oscillator is connected to the reference voltage generator. The reference current generator supplies a reference current to a current source in the oscillator. The reference voltage generator and the current generator have temperature compensation functions. The oscillator includes a capacitor(25), comparators(23,24), and a current switch. The capacitor is charged by the reference current supplied from the reference current generator. Reference input terminals of the comparators are connected to an output terminal of the reference voltage generator. Comparison input terminals of the comparators are connected to the capacitor. The comparator outputs an oscillator signal according to a voltage difference between the reference input terminal and the comparison input terminal. The current switch is connected between output terminals of the comparator and the reference current generator and controlled by the comparators.
