A non-volatile memory device and an encryption method thereof are provided to store data by mixing data storage order depending on user selection and read the data by using the mixed data storage order. An I/O(Input/Output) terminal mixer(210) connects data I/O terminals of a memory device to data I/O terminals of a page buffer depending on user selection. A user data authenticator(220) transmits a control signal for enabling the I/O terminal mixer to connect the data I/O terminals depending on the user selection. A spare cell stores a state connecting the data I/O terminals. The I/O terminal mixer includes a plurality of switches selectively connecting the data I/O terminals of the page buffer to the data I/O terminals of the memory device. The user data authenticator receives and stores a user ID to the spare cell, and determines whether the received user ID is identical with the user ID stored in the spare cell.
