A surface light source apparatus, a manufacturing method thereof and a back light unit including the same are provided to enhance the brightness of the discharge channel and to improve the uniformity of brightness. The surface light source apparatus includes a light source body having plural discharge channels. The discharge channel has a surface with the non-plane relating to the outside. An artificial surface illumination intensity(170) is offered to the outer surface or inner surface of the discharge channel locally. The discharge channel includes a center portion for emitting the light beam vertically and substantially and side portions located at both sides of the center portion. The surface illumination intensity is offered to one of the center portion and side portions. The light source body includes the first and second substrates(112,114). A discharge channel is formed at least one of first and second substrates. A bead layer is formed at the inner or outer surface of the discharge channel.
