A router comprises a housing with an upper part 10 that has at least two shells 28, (30, fig 2). A parting plane 32 of the two shells runs substantially in the direction of a vertical axis 34 of the router. Preferably, at least one handle 14, 16 is provided, which is formed in one piece with the motor housing, and where the parting plane runs through the at least one handle. A detachable cover 40 may be fitted on a handle, which extends over and draws the shells 42, (44, fig 2) of the handle together. For receiving a first guide pillar 22, the shells of the upper part may form a dome 46, onto which a clamping ring 48 can be pressed. A mounting cover (52,fig 2) may be provided in the region of an upper end of a second guide pillar 24, which can be clipped onto the shell. |
