The printing element (1) has a form cylinder (3), and a counter pressure cylinder (6) i.e. satellite cylinder, and a transmission cylinder (4) with printing blankets (8) in an operating mode. The printing blankets have a breadth different from a breadth, which is measured in an axial direction of the transmission cylinder. The printing blankets are different from each other in another operational mode. The transmission cylinder has channels (9, 11) for receiving ends of the printing blankets. The printing blankets have a form-stable support plate made of metal.
