A method of cultivating high-calcium onions by treating onion seed with diluted solutions containing calcium, sowing in a nursery bed and then foliar-spraying is provided to increase the storage quality and to reduce a pungent taste while giving high-calcium onions. Onion seed is treated with diluted solutions, dried for 1hr, sown in a nursery bed and foliar sprayed with wettable powders of calcium and silicate and anchovy extract at 10 day intervals 30 days after germination. The diluted solutions contain 10L water, 300g calcium, 10g gibberellin, 20g composite fertilizer and 100g anchovy extract, based 1.8L onion seed. |
