A method for preparing a polyester conjugated fiber with the latent crimping characteristic for splitting into the mono-filament is provided to prevent lowering of the splitting work property from generating due to the crimping twist. A polyester conjugated fiber has the fineness of a mono filament of 10-30 denier. Two kinds of polymers such as PET(Polyethyleneterephthalate) and PTT(Polytrimethyleneterephthalate) with the maximum viscosity difference of 0.5-1.1 dl/g are passed through separate injection holes. Thereafter, two injected fiber-phase polymers are adhered just under the spinneret so that the polyester conjugated fiber is manufactured and has a cross-sectional surface of a side-by-side shape having the weight ratio between two components as 7:3-5:5. The cross-sectional surface of the latent crimping yarn has a rectangular shape with rounded corners. The length ratio(a/b) of the long shaft to the short shaft is 1.5 to 3.0. The melting temperature of the PET is 285-300 degrees in centigrade and the melting temperature of the PTT is 255-275 degrees in centigrade.
