A detecting unit (1) has outer surface (2) with size less than internal space of radiation unit (3), so that it is inserted into internal space. A preset distance is provided in between outer surface and internal space. The detecting unit connects to voltage supply (10) to detect if its outer surface abuts against internal space due to deformation/displacement of detecting unit caused by patient's body (7)/equipments (6,8). An independent claim is also included for method for detecting collision between portion of patient's body or any equipment attached to patient's body.
