An aromatic vinyl thermoplastic polymer is provided to exhibit a low content of oligomers and a low yellow index value and to ensure excellent impact strength at the same time. A method for preparing aromatic vinyl thermoplastic polymers having excellent optical property includes the steps of: charging an aromatic vinyl compound(A), a polyfunctional vinyl compound(B), an organic oxidizing compound(C) having a one-hour half life temperature of 60-120 °C, and an organic polyfunctional oxidizing compound(D) into a mixed-type stir reactor having one or more polymerization reactors connected in series; and keeping the temperature inside the at least one polymerization reactor at 80-140 °C to perform continuous polymerization.
