A broadcasting receiver having a storage function and a control method thereof are provided to supply various types of folders and reclassify and display recorded-data so as to be suitable for a request of a user, thereby enabling the user to more easily grasp the recorded-data. A user interface(150) is for receiving a request command from a user. A storage medium hard disk(180) stores broadcasting data designated from the user interface among broadcasting data inputted from the outside. A display unit(130) displays various folder types for classifying the broadcasting data, stored in the storage medium, according to a specific folder type when a recorded-data view command is inputted from the user interface. A controller(160) reclassifies the broadcasting data, stored in the storage medium, in a detail lower folder corresponding to at least one or more folder types selected through the user interface among the displayed folder types.
