Disclosed is the use of levocetirizine or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof for treating persistent allergic rhinitis, wherein the persistent allergic rhinitis comprises at least one symptom that persists more than 4 days per week, for more than 4 weeks, wherein the medicament is adapted for administration of a daily dosage from about 0.0005 mg to about 2 mg of said levocetirizine or said pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, per kg of body weight per patient, and wherein the medicament is administered during a period of equal or more than 3 months.
