Gas combination type apparatus and method for diagnosing an internal abnormal condition of a power transformer are provided to extend a lifetime of a gas sensor by preventing the gas sensor from being in direct contact with insulating oil. A gas combination type apparatus for diagnosing an internal abnormal condition of a power transformer includes a gas extraction unit(10), a gas detection unit(20), and a control and output unit(30). The gas extraction unit extracts a gas in electric insulating oil in the power transformer. The gas detection unit measures a gas concentration by introducing the gas extracted from the gas extraction unit into a gas sensor and converts detected output of the sensor into a concentration of the insulating oil through an operation device. The control and output unit controls flow and temperature of the gas to smoothly perform reactions in various sensors according to the result measured by the gas detection unit and outputs the measured result to a monitoring program through a communication device. The gas extraction unit includes a membrane made of PTFE(PolyTetraFluroEthylene) inside.
