The lock (10) has an insert receiving a key (66) for operating the insert in an external barrel (12). The barrel has an axial locking bolt moving in translation between a locking position in which the bolt locks the insert in rotation and an unlocking position in which the insert is free in rotation with respect to the bolt. The key has a mobile element i.e. piston (74) for driving the bolt toward the unlocking position when a rod (68) is introduced in an axial passage way (20). The insert is equipped with a transversal strip (56) and a supporting element (65).
