The method involves discharging a rechargeable battery until a predetermined end-of-discharge threshold, and partially charging the battery. An electric parameter representing difference between a peak voltage and a plateau voltage of a charging whiplash effect is determined during charging of the battery. The determined electric parameter is compared with a predetermined characteristic. The end-of-discharge threshold is updated based on the comparison to utilize threshold during another discharging.
