The invention relates to a method for the extended operation of a heterogeneous catalyzed gas phase partial oxidation of at least one organic compound on a catalyst bed during which, in order to prevent the deactivation the catalyst bed, the working pressure in the gas phase is increased during the operating period of the catalyst bed.
