The bench (10) has a monocylinder heat engine model (14) including a body and a piston (24) that is moved with respect to the body. The body includes two components such as cylinder block (16) and cylinder head (18). A force sensor is interposed between the components and delivers signals representing constraints subjected by the components, during functioning of the bench, where the sensor is in the form of a proving ring.
