<p>Disclosed is a flame retardant which is composed of magnesium hydroxide particles containing a transition metal compound. The transition metal compound is at least one selected from copper compounds, cobalt compounds, nickel compounds, zinc compounds and titanium compounds. One of the transition metal compounds is contained in an amount of 100-1000 mass ppm in terms of a metal; the total amount of the copper compounds, cobalt compounds and nickel compounds is not more than 1000 mass ppm in terms of metals, and the total amount of the zinc compounds and the titanium compounds is not more than 1000 mass ppm in terms of metals.</p> |
