PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily transport and install a large weight and large capacity transformer. SOLUTION: There is provided a transformer disassembling/transporting method for disassembling a transformer including iron cores 2, 3, and 4 formed by stacking a plurality of metal plates and a plurality of windings 1 wound around these iron cores into a plurality of transport units, transporting them to an installation place, and assembling the transformer in this installation place. Winding 1 is wound around the iron cores 2, 3, 4, and these iron cores include a plurality of main gear irons 2 arranged parallel to each other in an extending surface of the metal plate, and a yoke 3 for connecting end portions of the main gear irons 2. This method includes the steps of: dividing each main gear iron 2 and yokes 3 and 4; dividing each main gear iron 2 into at least two by dividing a divided surface of the main gear iron 2 in its extending direction; separately packing each of the divided main gear iron cores 5; and transporting it to the installation place in a state of holding the metal plate in an almost horizontal state.
