IMAGE DISPLAY APPARATUS HAVING NETWORK COMMUNICATING FUNCTION AND CONTROL METHOD THEREOF

A display device equipped with a communicating function and a control method thereof are provided to control operation of a communication module for communicating with the external network by rebooting the communication module depending on a current status of the communication module. A communication module(100) performs communication with the external network. A display module(120) displays an image received from an external device or the communication module. A display module controller(128) controls an image display operation of the display module and controls the operation of the communication module depending on a current status of the communication module. A communication module power supply unit(111) supplies power to the communication module. The display module controller reboots the communication module by enabling the communication module power supply unit to cut off the power supplied to the communication module and supply the power again. The display module controller determines whether the communication module is a booting error status based on logic level change of an output signal, which represents a normal operation of devices embedded in the communication module. An audio processor(108) generates an audio signal according to the control from a south unit(102), and transfers the audio signal to the display module through a second connection unit(109).
