PLASMA DISPLAY PANEL

A plasma display panel is provided to improve driving efficiency and luminance by forming a microwave discharge unit to discharge microwave to a discharge cell. A back substrate(111) is arranged to be opposite to a front substrate(101). A barrier rib(112) divides a discharge cell between the front substrate and the back substrate. A microwave discharge unit discharges microwave to the discharge cell. The microwave discharge unit is arranged on a lower portion of the barrier rib or an inner side thereof. The microwave discharge unit is arranged on a dummy region of an outskirt of an active area on which an image is displayed. A seal layer is arranged between the front substrate and the back substrate to adhere the front substrate to the back substrate. The microwave discharge unit is arranged at an outskirt of the seal layer. The microwave discharge unit discharges the microwave more than about 0.5 GHz and less than 1 THz.
