<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a bar code printing result which can be read without uselessly using a print area and without performing complicated arithmetic operation processing with respect to expanding/reducing instruction to a print data containing a bar code data. <P>SOLUTION: A printing system 1 has a host computer 2 and a printer 10 which performs a bar code printing according to a print data containing a bar code data transmitted from the host computer 2.
