<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To store a maximum amount of toner in a waste-toner storage section and easily detect a state in which the waste-toner storage section has become full of the toner, in the case where toner removed from the surface of an image holding member by a cleaning member is stored in the waste-toner storage section. <P>SOLUTION: The waste-toner storage device 20 is configured such that toner t removed from the image holding member X by the cleaning member 21 is stored in the waste-toner storage section 22. In the waste-toner storage device 20, a detecting plate 23 for detecting an amount of toner stored in the waste-toner storage section is disposed so as to be movable vertically.
