<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact optical scanner, by providing a light source, a deflector, a reflector, and a scanning optical system in one U-shaped housing,. <P>SOLUTION: The housing 40 is U-shaped as shown in the cross sectional view and has an optical deflector 25 arranged at the centeral lower part, and scanning lenses 26 arranged on both sides across the optical deflector 25 (counter scanning system). In accordance with the distance of a photoreceptor irradiating an optical scanning plane on both sides, for keeping the compact distance, a mirror 27 is arranged immediately behind the optical deflector. After being deflected in a nearly vertical direction, the light passes through the scanning lens 26 fixed to the wall of the housing, and is emitted outside through an opening 42 provided on a cover 41. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
