PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simplified displaying means of reference for trimming an image to be inserted into a layout frame of a template and a simple setting means, and to provide a means for inserting the entire image into the layout frame without depending upon a rectangular aspect ratio for designating a trimming area. SOLUTION: In the case of inserting an image 203 into a selected layout frame of a template, a reference point 204 of trimming is set on the image 203, and an aspect ratio of an image frame selected centered on the reference point 204 is used to determine a trimming area 501 so as to be a maximum area on the image 203.
