PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an indoor unit of an air conditioner capable of increasing a degree of freedom in layout of position detecting means for filters, and preventing increase of a space occupied by the position detecting means. SOLUTION: This indoor unit 2 of the air conditioner for cleaning the air sucked from a room by a filter, exchanging heat by a heat exchanger, and returning the air to the room again, comprises the plurality of filters 121, 221, and the plurality of position detecting means 150, 250. The plurality of filters 121, 221 move on prescribed raceways. The plurality of position detecting means 150, 250 detect positions of the plurality of moving filters 121, 221. The plurality of position detecting means 150, 250 respectively have rotating members 153, 253 and switches 151, 251. The rotating members 153, 253 are operated while being pressed by the rotating members 153, 253. The plurality of rotating members 153, 253 rotate around a common rotating shaft 54.
