PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reproducing apparatus easy in setting of transfer means and excellent in operation properties. SOLUTION: A main control part 102 of the reproducing apparatus includes functions of transfer means starting means for starting transfer means corresponding to a specific data format; and of data format alteration means for altering a data format. Further, it includes a function of data format analysis means for analyzing whether or not a data format is altered by the data format alteration means. Further when it is analyzed that the data format is altered by the data format analysis means, it includes a function of transfer means restarting means for starting the transfer means corresponding to a new altered data format.
