PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotating speed detecting device wherein a cover member having improved rigidity to prevent its turn-up, when pressed in, can be stably fitted and fixed to a rotating member. SOLUTION: The rotating speed detecting device 15 comprises a slinger 7 approximately L-shaped in cross section view and consisting of a cylinder portion 8 and a disc portion 9 extending from one end of the cylinder portion to the radial direction, a cover member 10 approximately L-shaped in cross section view and consisting of a cylinder portion 11 fitted to the cylinder portion of the slinger 7 and fitted to an inner ring outer face 2a and a disc portion 12 extending from one end of the cylinder portion to the radial direction, and an annular multipolar magnet encoder 1 mounted between the axial outer face of the disc portion of the slinger 7 and the axial inner face of the disc portion of the cover member 10. A magnetic signal from the multipolar magnet encoder 1 is read by a magnetic sensor provided on a vehicle body in opposition to the multipolar magnet encoder to detect a rotating speed.
