PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a resin composition for an optical element, having an excellent adhesivity to a wide range of substrate materials even without subjecting substrates to a pretreatment such as surface treatment, primer treatment, etc., to a substrate. SOLUTION: The resin composition for an optical element comprises a component A composed of a copolymer of styrene and/orα-methylstyrene and a (meth)acrylate, a component B composed of an epoxy (meth)acrylate having a weight-average molecular weight of <2,000, a component C composed of an acrylate monomer represented by general formula (I) and a component D composed of a photopolymerization initiator.
