PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an airbag for a safety tire, which airbag can suppress the expansion of its diameter in a normal state of the tire in particular, and further can prevent the propagation of the cracks of a coating rubber to the rubber of a tube in a flat tire state, the cracks being caused when the cord of a crown reinforcing layer is broken. SOLUTION: The airbag 3 comprises a hollow annular tube 5 composed of composite material of non-woven fabric and rubber, the crown reinforcing layer 6 which is arranged on the outer circumference side of the crown portion 10 of the tube 5 and is composed of a cord rubber coating layer arranged such that the cord 8 is substantially parallel with the circumferential direction of the tube 5, and a cushion layer which is arranged between the tube 5 and the crown reinforcing layer 6, and prevents the propagation of the cracks of the coating rubber 9 to the tube 5, which cracks are caused by the fracture of the cord 8 of the crown reinforcing layer 6 due to the increase of the differential pressure P<SB>A</SB>-P<SB>T</SB>between the pressure P<SB>T</SB>in a cavity S of the tire and the internal pressure P<SB>A</SB>of the tube 5 caused by the pressure drop in the cavity S of the tire.
