PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which reduces the number of data by switching to a monochrome animation displaying image from colored one when the same bus is in a competitive state. SOLUTION: Print data inputted in an ASIC 1 is formed into image data by a CPU 4 and an SDRAM 3, and transferred to an ENGIN 5 via a PCI bus 4. While the processing is being carried out, an animation request is made on an operation part by the operation part 9, the request of the operation part 9 accesses a FLASH memory 6 from the ASIC 1 being the image forming IC, via the PCI bus 4. The animation image data stored in the FLASH memory 6 is transferred to a panel I/F 10 via the ASIC 1 being the image forming IC, the CPU 2, and the SDRAM 3, and is animation displayed in monochrome in the operation part 9.
