<p>Link data including road names is acquired, and the road links are classified according to the road names. Depending on the results of the classification, various kinds of navigation processings are performed. The navigation processings include (1) changing the colors and so on of the lines expressing the road links according to the classification results, (2) determining whether or not the road links are displayed on a map the scale of which is changed on the basis of the classification results, (3) determining whether or not the road links are taken into consideration when path calculation is performed on the basis of the classification results, and (4) displaying the road links on the map display screen in a display form corresponding to the road-related word contained in the road names according to the classification results. Class judging means for classifying road links into classes according to the road names is provided, the road links are classified into layers according to the judgment results, and map data having a hierarchical structure is created.</p> |
