Start-up intention is detected. On confirmation of start-up intention, an electric braking force booster is fed with a current. Braking force is adjusted to safeguard a vehicle against rolling away. Adjustment is kept until it is detected that a driver confirms braking or gas pedal after consequent ignition of vehicle. Opening a vehicle door confirms start-up intention.
