An air conditioner is provided to divide a space into a space for a filter cleaning unit and a passage through which air flows by a flow resistance reducing unit, thereby minimizing the flow resistance of air that passes the filter during the operation of the air conditioner. An air conditioner comprises a suction case, a filter cleaning unit(200), and a flow resistance reducing unit(400). The suction case is provided with a filter. The filter cleaning unit is installed to clean the filter while moving along with the filter. The flow resistance reducing unit is installed in the suction case to divide a space into a space for the filter cleaning unit and a space for the filter, and comprises a rotational mechanism(410) comprising a rotary plate(412) for dividing the space and a contact plate(414) connected to the rotary plate and coming in contact with the filter cleaning unit to transfer rotational force to the rotary plate, an elastic member(420) conveying elastic force to the rotational mechanism, and a magnetic member(430) installed on at least one of the suction case and rotational mechanism to generate magnetic force.
