A digital broadcasting receiver and a time synchronization method are provided to perform time synchronization between plural devices connected through an HDMI interface by using an HDMI-CEC function, thereby preventing operational errors of reservation recording and on/off timer and enhancing the convenience of a user. In a digital broadcasting receiver(200) supporting an HDMI-CEC(High Definition Multimedia Interface-Consumer Electronics Control) function, the digital broadcasting receiver comprises the followings. An input unit(210) is for inputting a user command. An HDMI interface(230) is for performing communication with plural external devices. A controller(220) synchronizes time information of the plural external devices through the HDMI interface if the user command is inputted.
