<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a backlight unit with a light guide buffer plate. <P>SOLUTION: The backlight unit is provided with a light source for generating light when a power source is applied, a light guide plate which has a first prism pattern on an incident perpendicular surface where light emitted from the light source enters and is provided with a refractive pattern on a bottom surface and converts the incident light from the incident perpendicular surface into a plane light source, a reflecting part to reflect light arranged on a lower part of the light guide plate to the light guide plate and a buffer part which is arranged between the light source and the light guide plate and is provided with a second prism pattern on a light emitting perpendicular surface to correspond with the incident perpendicular surface of the light guide plate. As a result, without changing a structure of the light guide plate, a poor visibility area arising from an end of the light guide plate can be fundamentally removed and a visibility can be improved and a mixing property and uniformity can be improved. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
